Women Cell

Institution has established Women’s Grievance Cell with the objectives of redressing the grievances of the students and the staff, of any sort related to women. The Women’s Grievance cell @ College of Applied Sciences, Perissery was started with the aim of empowering and orienting women to recognize their true potential and to help them attain their own stand in a competing world. Its goal is the overall development of CAS girls in all spheres of their life.

Objectives

Redresses of Students’ Grievances to solve their academic and administrative problems.

 To co-ordinate between students and Departments to redress the grievances.

 To guide ways and means to the students to redress their problems.

 To equip the female students, faculty and staff members with knowledge of their legal rights.

 To safeguard the rights of female students, faculty and staff members.

 To provide a platform for listening to complaints and redresses of grievances.

 To incorporate hygiene habits and ensure a healthy atmosphere in and around the college.

 To ensure personality along with academic development of students.

 Other important objectives include giving career guidance, functioning of a counseling centre and conducting health awareness classes

 Women's grievance cell Report 2022-23

College of Applied Science, Perissery (CASP) has an active Women 's cell for the past few years. The teacher's in charge of the cell for the academic year 2022-23 were Mrs. Merin Josephine (Asst Professor in English) and Miss Yamuna Devi P. (Asst Professor in  Computer Science). The cell was formed to cater the needs of female students in the college.

On March 3, 2023, the Women's cell announced a  'Poster making' from each class based on Women's day theme 2023. The theme of  Women's day 2023 was Equity.

The Women's day celebration was held in the college on March 8 2023. A poster from each class was hung on the college front yard. Eight charts were made by students on various themes of Equity. The charts contained paper cuttings and beautiful pictures. Through this activity all students became aware of Women's day theme 2023.

On March 3 2023, Women's cell in association with NSS conducted an awareness programme for the students regarding the topic 'Health and Hygiene'. The speaker was Anju L, who is the Junior Health Inspector, Puliyoor Panchayat. The class gave the students awareness about hygiene to be practiced in their age group.

In coming years, more activities are accepted to be done by the Women's cell.
